Overview
Instead of a fixed question bank, every round is built at runtime from the chosen artist's discography — intro quizzes from track previews, missing-word lyric challenges and progressively revealed album covers.
Backend
A small Hono server on Node proxies the iTunes Search API for tracks, previews and artwork, and the Genius API for lyrics, parsed out of HTML with Cheerio. Responses go through an in-memory cache and an in-flight request map, so concurrent players asking for the same artist trigger a single upstream call — keeping latency down and staying inside third-party rate limits.
Frontend
React 19 + Vite + Tailwind CSS v4 SPA with React Router, served by Nginx. Installable as a PWA, so it runs like a native game on phones without app-store releases. Open Graph and structured data are built in for SEO and link previews.
Deployment
Web and API ship as separate Docker images composed together behind Nginx.
