Overview
The core of the PlayerPicked ecosystem: a voting site where ranking is computed purely from player votes and cannot be bought. Monetisation is isolated in a separate sponsor auction, so the revenue path never touches the ranking logic.
Architecture
Next.js 16 App Router with React 19 server components, Drizzle ORM on PostgreSQL (PGlite for local development) and Tailwind CSS v4 with Radix UI primitives. Server-only modules keep secrets and database access off the client bundle. Deployed to a VPS through a scripted pipeline.
Identity & vote integrity
Sign-in runs through Discord OAuth2 via Auth.js (NextAuth v5). Tying every vote to a Discord identity makes voting one click for players and raises the cost of vote farming considerably compared to anonymous, IP-based voting. The same session is reused as single sign-on by the Docs and Stats platforms.
Payments & invoicing
Sponsor Spots are sold through an open auction. Payments go through Stripe Checkout and are confirmed by webhook; on a successful payment the order is invoiced automatically through the Billingo API, so there is no manual bookkeeping step between the charge and a legally valid invoice.
Content pipeline
An automated blog built on the Anthropic SDK generates search-friendly articles, editable afterwards in a Tiptap rich-text editor — organic traffic without a dedicated content writer.
