Overview
A CIT logistics company reconciled a high daily volume of bags across shops and routes by hand. Ri-Scan replaces that with a single source of truth that is current while the day is still running.
Data model
Relational schema around routes, shops and scanned bags, with bag types (money, postal, voucher, change) as a first-class dimension. Daily counters, all-time aggregates, a seven-day trend and per-type distribution are computed from the same tables, and every route, shop and bag is drill-down addressable.
Access control
Role-based authorisation separates administrators from operational staff on both the API and the UI, so each user only gets the endpoints and screens that belong to them.
Iterative extension
The schema was designed to grow. After launch it was extended with firearm, vehicle and personnel records (Sept 2026) and scheduled automatic emails for personnel records (Oct 2026) — new modules in the same system, without a rewrite.
